I believe leadership is about more than making decisions—it’s about bringing people together, building trust, and creating opportunities that improve the lives of those we serve. Throughout my time as an elected official, I have focused on turning vision into action through collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to long-term success.
Every accomplishment has been the result of creating a vision and then the environment for success which has led to people working together toward a common goal. I am proud of what we have achieved and excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Building Partnerships That Get Results
One of the most important lessons I have learned in public service is that meaningful progress happens when people work together. Whether partnering with fellow elected officials, business leaders, neighborhood groups, or regional organizations, I have worked to build consensus and move our community forward.
I have always believed that government works best when leaders listen first, communicate openly, and focus on solutions rather than politics.
Growing Our Economy Through Smart Investment
Economic development is about creating opportunities for families, supporting local businesses, and preparing our community for the future. I have worked to attract investment, support job creation, and position our entire region for sustainable growth.
I believe economic growth should be smart growth—growth that provides a positive return on investment, strengthens our tax base, and improves the quality of life for our citizens.
I have proudly supported efforts to:
Advance economic development opportunities connected to the Department of Energy site
Prepare and market the Triple Rail Site for future investment
Recruit new employers, including an Amazon distribution facility in Industrial Park West
Lead development of a speculative industrial building designed to attract additional businesses
Increase support for workforce development initiatives
Serve on the Greater Paducah Economic Development Board and as Chair of the Industrial Development Authority
Support the future of nuclear energy development through an appointment to the statewide Kentucky Nuclear Economic Development Authority
Revitalizing Neighborhoods and Creating New Opportunities
Strong communities invest in themselves. I have supported redevelopment projects that remove blight, encourage private investment, and create new opportunities for families and businesses.
These projects are about more than buildings - they are about creating vibrant places where people want to live, work, and invest.
Together, we have:
Advanced the Southside Redevelopment Initiative
Supported the continued growth and revitalization of Downtown Paducah
Helped establish Main Street as an independent nonprofit organization focused on downtown development
Redeveloped the former Katterjohn Building into new housing opportunities
Encouraged redevelopment of underutilized properties into apartments, businesses, and future housing developments
Helped attract Vi-Win Tech to the former Southside nursing home property, creating more than 100 new jobs
Helped attract a new investor to the former 10 story US Bank building who is reimagining the iconic building at 4th and Broadway into apartments and retail space.
Led the reorganization of the City of Paducah Inspection and Code Enforcement department with renewed focus on assisting developers and contractors get timely approvals and a more intense review of dilapidated buildings
Developed the first ever vacant building ordinance which de-incentivizes owners to hold on to vacant buildings for long periods of time without continued investment.
Investing in Infrastructure That Supports Growth
Communities that plan ahead are communities that prosper. Throughout my service, I have supported infrastructure investments that strengthen our economy, improve transportation, and enhance public services.
These investments are helping position our region for long-term growth and success.
Some of the projects I am most proud of include:
Helping lead development of the first new airport terminal in more than 65 years
Supporting the return of commercial air service connecting our region to major transportation hubs
Advancing riverfront redevelopment and tourism infrastructure
Supporting construction of a modern cruise ship dock along the Ohio River
Partnering with McCracken County on transformative projects such as the Sports Plex and improvements to 911 emergency services
Continued focus on stormwater infrastructure upgrades
Increased investment in city streets and sidewalks
Building Strong Teams and Effective Government
Leadership is ultimately about people. One of my most important responsibilities has been working with my fellow commissioners in building a team capable of serving our community with professionalism, innovation, and accountability.
I am also proud of the work we have done to strengthen city operations, improve communication, modernize technology, and build one of the strongest Human Resources departments in our city’s history.

I understand that every dollar government spends comes from the people we serve. That is why I have supported responsible budgeting, careful financial oversight, and strategic investments that deliver long-term value while providing total transparency to our citizens.
My goal has always been to balance progress with fiscal responsibility while ensuring taxpayers receive the greatest possible return on their investment.
Supporting Public Health and Public Safety
A strong community depends on strong public services. I have worked to support healthcare providers, emergency services, and public health initiatives that improve the well-being of our citizens.
My service includes:
Serving on the boards of both the regional Purchase Area Health Department and the McCracken County Board of Health
Supporting development of the first new health department facility in decades
Advocating for investments in emergency communications and public safety
Supporting the continued growth of our healthcare systems, which are essential to both our economy and our quality of life
Leadership That Listens
The most important part of leadership is listening. I have always believed that elected officials should meet people where they are—out in the community, listening to residents, business owners, neighborhood groups, and stakeholders.
A meeting room can sometimes feel intimidating. That is why I prefer going to the people. Government leaders should work alongside the communities they serve and make sure every voice has an opportunity to be heard.
The progress we have achieved is the result of collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to building a stronger future. These are the same principles that will continue to guide me as I seek to serve all of McCracken County and help our community reach its full potential.
